Royal Ascot Day 1

————————————————————————————————————————–

Queen Anne Stakes

The first race of the week and a Group 1 to start and what a race it looks like being.

Solow has come out TOP RATED and this is off the back of 5 consecutive wins since being dropped back in distance. After winning a Group 3 in really impressive fashion at Deauville he stepped up to Group 2 class at Longchamp when beating Veda by half a length. A trip to Meydan for the Dubai Turf proved fruitful when a very easy winner beating The Grey Gatsby by over 4 lengths and this form looks strong. A recent win in the Prix D’Ispahan was very […]

British Stallion Studs EBF totepool Nottinghamshire Oaks Stakes (Listed Race) – Nottingham 16:20

British Stallion Studs EBF totepool Nottinghamshire Oaks Stakes (Listed Race) – Nottingham 16:20

The feature race today at Ripon slightly changed in complexion after the ground change and this surely helped the winner who was given a good ride. Our 2 that we highlighted ended up going off 3/1 joint favourites (Indy was 13/2 when we selected him) but they could only finish 2nd and 3rd.

Tomorrow’s feature race is at Nottingham and is a Listed race for Fillies and Mares.

Dream Child – stepped up in distance and won at Wolverhampton before transferring this form to the turf when narrowly being denied at Goodwood in a Listed event. The winner that day […]

Weatherbys Hamilton Handicap – Ripon 15:55

2017-07-15T12:01:47+01:00June 1st, 2015|

Weatherbys Hamilton Handicap – Ripon 15:55 – is the feature race tomorrow and after including Tropics (won @ 7/1) in one of our 3 for the race at Windsor tonight, we are hoping we can highlight the winner for tomorrow as well.

Birdman – has risen back up to a mark of 91 having been just 70 at the beginning of this 3 winning streak. He has won at Lingfield earlier in his career at 89 so winning off 91 isn’t impossible. Having won over 7f on his last 3 starts, he is stepped up to 1 mile which shouldn’t inconvenience him (strike rate for Danehill Dancers is 11% at both […]

Weatherbys Private Banking Leisure Stakes – Windsor 19:25

2017-03-13T14:47:10+00:00June 1st, 2015|

The feature race of the day today is the Listed event at Windsor ( Weatherbys Private Banking Leisure Stakes – Windsor 19:25 ) which has been won in the past by the likes of Bated Breath.

Naadir was a horse that we were really impressed with on his reappearance this season when beating Astaire at Doncaster in which the form has worked out well with 2nd Astaire winning since and 4th Jack Dexter finishing 4th, 3rd and 2nd since including last time out in a Group 2. After such a promising reappearance he was very disappointing on his 2nd run when trailing in 15th at York when he never travelled. The […]

The Derby Preview

2017-07-15T12:01:48+01:00June 1st, 2015|

The Derby looks the weaker of the 2 events however the form of the favourite has been well franked especially with Peacock winning at the weekend who Golden Horn had previously beaten at Newmarket.

Golden Horn was made a short priced favourite after winning the Dante in impressive fashion when ridden by William Buick which followed up his victory earlier at Newmarket when ridden by Frankie Dettori. The Dante was run at a good pace with Lord Ben Stack taking them along and with a few taking a keen hold, William Buick was able to settle Golden Horn towards the back of the field before moving up with 3 furlongs to […]

The Oaks Preview

2017-07-15T12:01:51+01:00June 1st, 2015|

With the Oaks taking place on Friday, the team have been through the principals and here are our thoughts.

Legatissimo was highly regarded last season and ran a very good race when 2nd to Jack Naylor in a Listed event which was then franked when Jack Naylor finished 3rd to Found in the Prix Marcel Boussac at Longchamp. Also in this race was Together Forever who has since won a Group 1 at Newmarket and ran Star of Seville to a head in the Oaks trial at York. When Legatissimo was beaten by Jack Naylor, the former was both keen and the latter got first run having been ridden more prominently […]

Flat Season 2015 – Horses to Follow

2017-07-15T12:01:53+01:00May 28th, 2015|

With the flat season now in full swing and 2 of the 5 classics already run, the next big features to look forward to are the Epsom Oaks and Derby and the Royal Ascot meeting. Having seen many of the below have at least one run, we believe that these horses if run over our suggested distances are horses to watch out for in the remaining months of the season and hopefully will include a few Royal Ascot winners.

Flat Season 2015 – Horses To Follow

Tiggy Wiggy – after running a poor effort in the Fred Darling when only 3rd @ 11/10 she was stepped up in distance to 1 mile […]

RatingTheRaces National Hunt Horses to Follow – 2014/2015

2017-07-15T12:01:57+01:00October 10th, 2014|

With the National Hunt Season fast approaching we have highlighted 11 horses that we think will be very hard to beat in their respective races and feel there are a few Cheltenham Festival winners in this list.

Vautour: Vautour was highlighted the day before he made his British debut as being one of the horses that would be a main player in the Novice hurdle division and this turned out to be true with Vautour being unbeaten all season including winning the Supreme Novices Hurdle at Cheltenham in very impressive fashion in a time that was quicker than both Champagne Fever and Al Ferof who both won this race and went […]
