UK Handicap Mark changes – 21st March 2023

Most of these ran at Cheltenham but not all. How many run at Aintree and how many in the races we suggest?

Hurdlers

6 Hurdlers that could be interesting next time, the last one he really hopes is dropped into handicap company now! She would have a massive chance! Hurdlers Twitter Thread

Chasers

Quite a few here from Liam including one who was clearly making no effort last time out and has been dropped 3lb for it. He also really likes the last named and if he drops into a handicap then he could be very interesting […]

Liam looks at some of the racing tomorrow and highlights who he likes for some of the races. These include a couple at Newcastle in the later races that look to be much easier races than what they have been in. Morebattle Hurdle – Bonus hunting!

Morebattle Hurdle – Bonus hunting!

If you win the Morebattle Hurdle at Kelso and ANY race at the Cheltenham Festival you win a £100,000 bonus. Looking at the entries for the Morebattle, here are 3 horses that could be trying to do just that.

Mctigue

Mctigue is very interesting. He’s been given a rating of 142 in the Morebattle Hurdle and has entries in the Boodles Juvenile Handicap Hurdle, Coral Cup, Triumph Hurdle & Martin Pipe Conditional Jockeys Handicap Hurdle. This is very reminiscent of The Shunter who had entries left, right and centre when he completed the double for Emmet Mullins.

Looking at his form, I think […]

In part 2, Liam looks at the Festival Plate, Kim Muir, County Hurdle & Martin Pipe Conditional Jockeys Handicap Hurdle

Trainers plan a year after mine!

Grand Annual: I don’t normally get sucked in by comments by the trainer / owner but this one is very interesting:

Harry Whittington feels that Rouge Vif is coming back to boil ready for a run in the Grand Annual, a plan he hatched in […]

Liam looks back at the Betfair Hurdle weekend and highlights horses that shouldn’t be given up on including horses that could be aimed at the Imperial Cup, County Hurdle, Morebattle Hurdle and Kim Muir Handicap Chase. One horse from the weekend even makes a Cheltenham Festival E/W Treble that was requested.

The Dan Skelton Hurdlers

2023-02-08T12:54:56+00:00February 8th, 2023|

Dan Skelton and the Handicap Hurdles

Dan Skelton has 3 horses that could all have leading chances in the 3 handicap hurdles at the Cheltenham Festival over 2m and 2 1/2 mile. Here Liam looks at which race he feels each should be in.

Langer Dan

Langer Dan has twice been to the Cheltenham Festival in the Martin Pipe Conditionals Jockey Handicap Hurdle. In 2021 after winning the Imperial Cup he finished 2nd behind Galopin Des Champs.
