Weekend Review – Irish National weekend

Liam looks back at the weekend action and highlights horses that are interesting going forward. He thinks he saw a horse who can run a big race in the Chester Cup next time, a horse for the Ebor and may have his whole season geared around this race and which rides at Lingfield were poor and why!

Royal Ascot Review 2021

Why do people moan about rides?

Why do people complain about rides? Because they lost a few ££’s and they don’t understand the difference between a bad ride and an unfortunate ride. Horses can’t simply run through other horses that may be in the way. Similarly people expect jockeys to know what their mounts and others are going to do all the time. When a gap closes it’s not always (or even often) the fault of the jockey going for the gap and yet they get moaned at.

The criticism of Frankie on Stradivarius is ridiculous. The claim that he should have been closer turning in would have meant he […]

That’s the whole season planned for him!

This weeks includes 1 horse who has been raised 1lb on collateral form but I think he’s still much better than his new 99 mark!

Voix Du Reve dropped 1lb to 144

Voix Du Reve has actually dropped 4lb to 144 over fences but I think connections should stick to hurdles next season and he’s now dropped to 145 over hurdles which is the same mark as when 2nd by a neck at Musselburgh in the Hogmaneigh Hurdle. He clearly acts at some tracks and disappoints at others and at this stage of his career, mixing it up going to tracks […]

Horses To Follow – Flat Season 2020

Horses To Follow – Flat Season 2020!

Hopefully I can highlight some great winners this season when racing returns and I am confident there are some nice types in these that should win races for us.

Raymond Tusk– trained by Richard Hannon

Raymond Tusk is currently 50/1 for the Ebor and I think this is a ridiculous price, not only because he ran a very unlucky 4th in the race last year but his owners have already said that returning to this race is something they are very keen on. Who wouldn’t though, with the prize money for the Ebor being massive! I will be watching his preparation […]
