Saturday 16th April 2016 – Scottish Grand National TOP RATED Winner!

On Saturday the feature race of the day was the Scottish Grand National but there was plenty of racing both before and after including when Dale Swift had his comeback rides after serving a drugs ban. Hopefully he has learnt his lesson and can concentrate on his race riding and he showed he hadn’t lost any of his ability when winning on his first ride back on TOP RATED Off The Scale who won @ 12.92 BFSP which was a fantastic 219% VALUE and was a great start to what was to be a great day for the ratings.

Over the next hour or two there were plenty of other TOP RATED winners including Karisma King @ 4.3 BFSP who also led home a straight forecast for the ratings, Sartori @ 3.71 BFSP and Tasleet who won on his seasonal reappearance in the Greenham in which previous winners included Paco Boy, Frankel, Olympic Glory, Kingman and Muhaarar however Tasleet was winning at Chelmsford on the All Weather and NOT on the turf at Newbury where it is usually run but was forced to be abandoned this year at that track due to waterlogging.

The Scottish Grand National came around at 16:10 and having won with Le Mercurey and Vivaldi Collognes earlier on the card, Paul Nicholls who was trying to claw back the deficit on Willie Mullins in the trainers championship had TOP RATED Vicente in the Scottish Grand National and this could only further increase his chance. After a furious gallop there were still 25+ going with 1 circuit to go however one of those who was not was Willie Mullins sole representative Measureofmydreams who had fallen very early on. Coming into the final 4 fences, Vicente was still travelling well in 3rd behind Seeyouatmidnight and Royale Knight who were trying to get away and a slow leap at the 3rd last by Vicente meant he dropped a few lengths further back however by the time they arrived at the 2nd last he was just behind and had momentum. TOP RATED Vicente joined RTR 2 Seeyouatmidnight and had the momentum whilst a mistake from Seeyouatmidnight also didn’t help his chances and Vicente stayed on really well to win by 2 ¾ lengths @ 20.38 BFSP from the very fast finishing Alvarado who just pipped Seeyouatmidnight for 2nd. Winning @ 20.38 BFSP meant he was a very nice 271% VALUE and a great win for the ratings. This was a big winner for Paul Nicholls in the Trainers championship and since then he has saddled a further 7 runners with 5 winning , 1 2nd and 1 5th place finish. He is surely a trainer to watch out for in the last week as most of his horses will be still at their peak.

There was further joy to come for the ratings with TOP RATED runners Cymro, Lewisham, Two Taffs and Darshini all of whom a member placed in a Lucky 15 and an accumulator and tweeted us the following saying thanks. ‘Member Bets’ . From just £8.50 he had returned over £430. Well Done. A great day all round with a good 15 TOP RATED winners at a strike rate of 34.09% and it was great to hear members had done well as well
