Still Unwell!

I’m still not well enough to be talking on videos but there is still a video below, it does show the LATEST odds that were available at the time of publication. More on this below.

Show the odds, don’t just ‘quote’ them

I think it’s really poor from pundits & tipsters who simply ‘quote’ a price. How hard is it to show the odds via at the very least a screenshot. Show the current odds of your horse on oddschecker to increase transparency to your tips. Better would be a video showing the odds AFTER an update of the page. It’s easy to edit the page to show different odds to what are actually available but refreshing your page simply removes any doubt of whether these odds were available.

Far too often tipster and pundits quote a price that was never available at the time of publication and have ABSOLUTELY NO PROOF either way. This isn’t good enough.

I’m ill still and yet I have recorded a video below showing the current odds of the selections. For this, I simply used Loom which is free if you are only creating a few videos. If you then wanted to include audio, a mic really doesn’t have to be anything fancy.

I would also argue you can explain things better with your voice rather than text AND it takes less time than writing it!

Saturday Analysis

Chester 2:10 Vintage Clarets was on my shortlist for Royal Ascot with the Wokingham in mind if he snuck in at the bottom but he didn’t get an entry at any point and to be honest off his current mark of 87 he was very unlikely to get in. Things may have been different if he had won the Epsom Dash at Epsom but the stalls opened late and although apparently this made no difference whatsoever (what a load of rubbish) he disappointed back in 14th. That said he still ran well enough to actually catch my eye and I thought he could have been aimed at something like the Windsor Series Finale. He was eyecatching when 2nd off 91 at Musselburgh and he’s now down to 87 and Callum takes 3lb off. He really should go very close here from stall 2. He will want to be picking up late on from the pace hopefully set by Speedacus and Copper Knight.

Vintage Clarets

Chester 3:55 Malakahna defeat of Novel Legend, Zikany & Mister Camacho at Newmarket looks good form with the runner up winning his next 2 before finishing 2nd in the Chester Plate and Mister Camacho even won 2 runs later. Malakahna then needed 3m over hurdles but was never sent that far and I think this was the reasons for her poor showing. Back on the flat and at Chester and with Callum retaining the ride her effective 5lb rise I don’t think will stop this progressive mare. I think she might get an easy lead here as well and will be very hard to pass.

Malakahna

Sandown 3:25 Classic ran arguably better than his 6th place position suggests last time out in a class 2. (This is a Class 3 BUT it features the same quality of opposition) Keen early on, he was then bumped and pushed wide off the bend and although he travelled nicely back into the race he didn’t pick up as hoped. He was dropped 1lb for that and in my opinion that race will work out really well and I think he can go well here. It’s definitely not an easy race but I can’t be deserting Classic just yet.

Classic Thoughts

York 3:40 Pure Angel might actually be my NAP of the day at a great price. 5th on debut (when very slowly away) she looked like the winner on her 2nd start when travelling really well only to be caught late on by Couplet (not seen since). She was then beat again on her 3rd start when again looking like the winner turning into the straight at Wolverhampton. She was beaten that day by Al Dasim who then won his next 4 races before finishing 7th in a Group 1! Pure Angel finally got off the mark in November 2022 when winning by 4 1/2 lengths and then made a more than satisfactory return over 5f at Goodwood when beaten by the race fit Ferrous (image below showed I thought he was well handicapped) who had showed plenty himself in his 2 starts at Newmarket prior to this win. Pure Angel getting in here off 86 looks very eyecatching and her form stacks up really well.

York 2:35 Admiral D drops in class and for me crucially gets better going than what he has been running on. I think the only negative is his draw in 13 but I’m hoping Oisin simply drops in behind the field and comes through late on. His 5th behind Orazio, Probe, Chairmanoftheboard and Leap Abroad at Newmarket on his return when fly leaping the start was a very good run and that race has worked out really well. On this ground he can definitely get 7f and I’m very hopeful of a big run!
