Royal Hunt Cup next!

After another great run from one of our horses highlighted here (Sunday Sovereign 2nd @ 20/1), hopefully we can continue this good run! This week I think I’ve found one that I really like for the Royal Hunt Cup as well as a horse who I think will run much better next time out when I think he will be fitter!

This week, we’ve made it easier to add these horses to your RTR NagMe. All you need is a FREE account which you can get here: Free RatingTheRaces Account

If you are unsure how to add a horse to your RTR NagMe. Check […]

Weekly Handicap Blog – 18th May 2021

The Wokingham is surely the target this year again!

This week I think I have found the one for the Wokingham at Royal Ascot whilst there were 2 in 1 race at York that caught my eye. So far from these posts, I have had 3 run in subsequent handicaps and they have finished

1st @ 14/1
2nd @ 40/1
4th @ 10/1 (and I think wins next time!)

Bielsa (Kevin Ryan) dropped 1lb to 95

Bielsa ran a great race last week when finishing 5th at York over 6f when arguably doing too much too early. With 2 furlongs to run he hit the front and […]

It may be the summer but there is still some great NH racing!

This week I think I’ve found one that would go close in a Summer Plate at Market Rasen as well as a horse who I think can bounce back when returning to handicap company!

Royal Village dropped 1lb to 130

Royal Village dropped 1lb for his 3rd placed effort at his beloved Market Rasen. I don’t think this was a bad effort over a trip that is slightly too far for him and  it was no surprise to see him just fade late on. He was beaten by 2 horses who came into the race […]

That’s the whole season planned for him!

This weeks includes 1 horse who has been raised 1lb on collateral form but I think he’s still much better than his new 99 mark!

Voix Du Reve dropped 1lb to 144

Voix Du Reve has actually dropped 4lb to 144 over fences but I think connections should stick to hurdles next season and he’s now dropped to 145 over hurdles which is the same mark as when 2nd by a neck at Musselburgh in the Hogmaneigh Hurdle. He clearly acts at some tracks and disappoints at others and at this stage of his career, mixing it up going to tracks […]

Weekly Handicap Blog – Fences will be the making of him!

This week features 2 or 3 that plenty of you wont be agreeing with but I am confident that next season and over fences and he will bounce back.

Cap Du Nord dropped 1lb to 139

This felt very much like an end of season handicap change from the handicapper rather than dropping him because he had disappointed. His form over fences this year has been very good, 412355 with his only poor running coming in a handicap hurdle. He finished 5th in his final run of the season in the Bet365 Gold Cup where the right […]

Flat Racing Horses and their targets

The weekly blog will be highlighting horses that I think are nicely handicapped but I don’t always know their targets. Any strong pieces of analysis will go in this blog whilst any that catch my eye throughout the season will also go in here (don’t have to drop in handicap). I am confident that if some of these run in their suggested targets they can go very close. Will be interesting to see how much most of these go up in the handicap anyway (lots from last season went on to win other feature races as well). Let us know what you think […]

Weekly Handicap Blog – Royal Ascot contender?

I aim to write a blog each Tuesday highlighting horses that I feel have been dropped in the handicap down to a mark where I think they can be very competitive. This week, I think there is a horse who is being laid out for a return to Royal Ascot!

Nelson River dropped 4lb to 126

Surely next season Tony Carroll will be stepping this horse up in trip again as he has won on the AW over 2m! His only effort over further came in the Coral Cup where he was held up out the back and never really got […]

Horses To Follow – Flat Season 2020

Horses To Follow – Flat Season 2020!

Hopefully I can highlight some great winners this season when racing returns and I am confident there are some nice types in these that should win races for us.

Raymond Tusk– trained by Richard Hannon

Raymond Tusk is currently 50/1 for the Ebor and I think this is a ridiculous price, not only because he ran a very unlucky 4th in the race last year but his owners have already said that returning to this race is something they are very keen on. Who wouldn’t though, with the prize money for the Ebor being massive! I will be watching his preparation […]

Liam’s Royal Ascot 2019 Eyecatchers & Targets

2019-06-25T13:59:36+01:00June 24th, 2019|

Here are my Royal Ascot Eyecatchers and where I think they should be targeted at!

Golden Horde – 5th in the Coventry Stakes over 6f

Golden Horde ran a great race for 5th despite looking very green. He tracked the early pace on the far side set by Monoski who faded back to 16th but drifted left and right and required some sharp straighteners from Adam Kirby. The front 3 are all likely to be smart with the hot favourite and TOP RATED Arizona winning suggesting the form should be strong. Golden Horde looks like he will be stepped up in distance sooner rather than later.

Potential Target: […]

RatingTheRaces Interview with Our Form Expert Liam!

RatingTheRaces: Royal Ascot has been good so far (going into day 3) with some big winners found. Can you tell us what made you pick The Grand Visir and Afaak?

Liam: Royal Ascot is going well, guaranteed a profit of 31 points is great and hopefully we can add to that today.

The Grand Visir, I’ve been a fan of for a little while now, ever since he won a handicap at Haydock over 2m. He finished really well that day under James Doyle for William Haggas and demonstrated to me that he was maybe even a pattern class horse.

After a few months […]
