How-toall plans

Entering the NAP Competition is simple and completely FREE. Watch the video, then follow the steps below.

How to enter

  1. Open the NAP Competition from the menu and pick the day you're entering for.
  2. Choose your NAP, your single strongest selection of the day.
  3. Choose your NB ("next best"), your second selection.
  4. Choose your 3B ("third best"), your third selection.
  5. Submit your entry.

Your NAP entry slip: pick your NAP, NB and 3B, then submit. Entries lock once submitted

A racecard after racing: the NAPs column shows how many players picked each horse, alongside the results

To be eligible for prizes, your selections must be posted in an open, public environment: keep your X account unlocked (public) and don't delete your posts. See the NAP Competition rules.

Win, Place or Each-Way

Each of your three picks can now be backed Win, Place or Each-Way, not just to win. Under each selection on your slip you'll find a Win / Place / E/W toggle:

  • Win, the classic, it scores if the horse wins.
  • Place, it scores if the horse is placed.
  • Each-Way (E/W), half win and half place, so a placed horse still rewards you and a winner rewards you more.

Place and Each-Way need at least five declared runners. How many places count follows the usual terms, 5 to 7 runners pay 2 places, 8 or more pay 3, and big handicaps of 16+ runners pay 4. Your slip shows the place odds and how many places apply for each pick, and your leaderboard score is worked out to match the bet type you chose.

Tips for a strong entry

You don't have to wait until the morning, race cards publish around 1pm the day before, so you can get in early. See How to enter the day before racing. And if one of your picks becomes a non-runner, you can swap it for another horse, see Replacing a non-runner.

Once you've entered, check the leaderboards to see how you're doing, and see Weekly & monthly winners' prizes for everything up for grabs. New to it all? Start with What is the NAP Competition?.
