Here are Liam’s thoughts for Day 2 at the Cheltenham Festival. Writing these thoughts on paper (well typing them) have pushed me on to horses that I hadn’t considered. I can’t recommend enough to write your thoughts down and you will convince yourself of some and dissuade yourself of others!

Here are Liam’s thoughts for Day 1 at the Cheltenham Festival. It’s always worth going through all horses (even if you don’t fancy them) and writing down some notes about them. Betfair Hurdle – Saturday 8th February – Can JP win it again?

This weekend sees the Betfair Hurdle return to Newbury after it was run at Ascot last year due to the Equine Influenza outbreak. It’s a race that has had some very talented winners in the past including Make A Stand, Landing Light, Get Me Out Of Here, Zarkandar, My Tent Or Yours and more recently Ballyandy and Kalashnikov.

Both Get Me Out Of Here and My Tent Or Yours were owned by JP McManus whilst he has also had Bleu Et Rouge, Movewiththetimes, Alaivan and Waxies Dargle run good races in recent years.

In part 2 of our Cheltenham Preview we look at the Novice Chases at the Cheltenham Festival and hope we have identified a few decent bets.

Douvan who the Supreme Novices hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival heads the market for this race and his form can hardly be knocked having had 3 runs over fences and the closest any horse has got was when Rogue Trader finished 9 ½ lengths behind in 2nd with Douvan not coming out of 2nd gear.
