UK Handicap Mark changes – 21st March 2023

Most of these ran at Cheltenham but not all. How many run at Aintree and how many in the races we suggest?

Hurdlers

6 Hurdlers that could be interesting next time, the last one he really hopes is dropped into handicap company now! She would have a massive chance! Hurdlers Twitter Thread

Chasers

Quite a few here from Liam including one who was clearly making no effort last time out and has been dropped 3lb for it. He also really likes the last named and if he drops into a handicap then he could be very interesting […]

Cheltenham Festival 2023 Day 2 – Looking away from the favourites

2023-01-10T14:16:31+00:00January 10th, 2023|

Cheltenham Day 2 – Wednesday

In this post, we will identify the top contenders that pose the greatest threat to the favourites in the Day 2 races at the Cheltenham Festival. By analysing various factors such as form, distance, and more, we aim to find reasons why the favourites may not be as strong as their odds suggest and could potentially be beaten by another horse. Our goal is to uncover potential upsets and let’s hope we have a few here!

Ballymore Novices Hurdle

Champ Kiely bounced back to form when winning the Grade 1 over 2m3f and although he clearly settled better over this trip and going […]

Cheltenham Festival 2021 – Where Are They Now?

Cheltenham Festival 2021 Top 5

Last year this blog highlighted Fakir D’Oudaries who finished 2nd in the Ryanair at a whopping 50/1 as well as some other great runs.

Horses that run well at one Cheltenham Festival generally run well at subsequent Cheltenham Festivals either due to the way the races are run or because connections target a return and here we look at those who finished in the Top 5 of each race of the Cheltenham Festival 2021, the in-running low and where they are now and what the targets could be this season. This year we will be adding a video per race!

Five reasons why Energumene can’t turn the tables on Shishkin

Five reasons why Energumene can’t turn the tables on Shishkin

1.Cheltenham Festival Form

Course form at Cheltenham is very important as we see time and time again and horses with Cheltenham Festival form is even more important. The buzz and noise at Cheltenham can get horses worked up and we are confident this wont happen to Shishkin who has been there and done it. Shishkin has done this twice now having won the 2020 Supreme Novices & the 2021 Arkle. Energumene has never been to the Cheltenham Festival.

2. Shorter Distance is countered by the uphill finish

The suggestion that the shorter distance is a fact however this is […]

Cheltenham Festival 2022 – Liam’s Selections

I think the 2021 Festival has thrown up many winner who will win again and as boring as they are, I think come the festival barring not making it they will be shorter and most likely winners.

Supreme Novices Hurdle

Sir Gerhard @ 7/1

Sir Gerhard came into Cheltenham 2021 with a big reputation but maybe not as big as Kilcruits and that was why he didn’t go off favourite. He beat Kilcruit well enough with the pair pulling clear. I think the Champion Bumper will work out really well and Sir Gerhard looked to have the most speed out of […]

Cheltenham Festival 2020 – Wednesday Review

In this video, Liam has a look at Day 2 of the 2020 Cheltenham Festival. From the Wednesday he feels there is the next Kauto Star/Denman as well as a horse I really like for the Coral Cup next season especially if his whole campaign is geared around this race.  I didn’t mention him in the video but don’t give up on Champagne Well either in handicaps!

Liam’s Horses To Follow – Day 2 of Cheltenham Festival 2020

Liam was tasked with finding just 1 horse to take out of each race from the Cheltenham Festival. Check out his Horses To Follow from Day 2 of the Cheltenham Festival below. He’ll be looking at them in more depth in upcoming blogs.

Ballymore Novices Hurdle – Envoi Allen

Envoi Allen – there really is no point looking elsewhere in this race. His turn of foot to pick up Easywork and The Big Breakaway in the final straight was very impressive. He’s still unbeaten and his form is very very strong. I can’t pick holes in him […]

Liam’s Cheltenham Festival Thoughts for Day 2

Here are Liam’s thoughts for Day 2 at the Cheltenham Festival. Writing these thoughts on paper (well typing them) have pushed me on to horses that I hadn’t considered. I can’t recommend enough to write your thoughts down and you will convince yourself of some and dissuade yourself of others!

All Cheltenham Festival Selections from Liam

Liam has been busy this year spotting those who he really likes for Cheltenham Festival races and he and our members are in great positions for plenty of races including having advised Dame De Compagnie for the Coral Cup 25/1. To see all of his selections for […]
