Grand National Thoughts – who was the unlucky loser last year?

2022-02-15T10:26:23+00:00January 26th, 2022|

Grand National – Aintree – Saturday 9th April 2022

Who was the unlucky loser?

Any Second Now @ 16/1

Any Second Now made quite a bad mistake at the 10th and it was a good sit and that was the only mistake Any Second Now made but that’s not why he was unlucky. Any Second Now takes off at the 12th 1/2 length behind the eventual winner Minella Times in 9th & 10th place. Upon landing he is hampered by the fall of Double Shuffle and ends up back in 18th and about 10 lengths behind Minella Times. He then had to make his effort to close on the winner […]

Five reasons why Energumene can’t turn the tables on Shishkin

Five reasons why Energumene can’t turn the tables on Shishkin

1.Cheltenham Festival Form

Course form at Cheltenham is very important as we see time and time again and horses with Cheltenham Festival form is even more important. The buzz and noise at Cheltenham can get horses worked up and we are confident this wont happen to Shishkin who has been there and done it. Shishkin has done this twice now having won the 2020 Supreme Novices & the 2021 Arkle. Energumene has never been to the Cheltenham Festival.

2. Shorter Distance is countered by the uphill finish

The suggestion that the shorter distance is a fact however this is […]

Can Shishkin back up his win at Cheltenham now?

Can the Clarence House be topped at the Cheltenham Festival?

Shishkin was one of 7 TOP RATED ITV Winners!

On ITV on Saturday, there were 8 races and TOP RATED won 7 of them whilst the other traded 1.36 in the run before finishing 2nd!

Haydock 1:25 Jonbon made hard work of winning but was giving weight away to the runner up. He’s still learning and should again improve for the run. He was drifted slightly for the Supreme Novices Hurdle and we are very happy with Constitution Hill against him.

Ascot 1:45 Unexpected Party showed he was well handicapped when winning comfortably here. He went up 6lb […]

Cheltenham is fast approaching now!

Cheltenham will be here soon!

Who is likely having their final prep race before the Festival!

Liam looks at the handicap marks from this week and highlights some of those that have dropped that caught his eye. These include a horse who may need a change of jockey, one who should be aimed at a race that actually suits and one that surely drops back into handicap company next time!

The geniuses use RatingTheRaces Ratings

2022-01-15T17:12:25+00:00January 9th, 2022|

How the Ratings can be used!

A Top Rated winner. What a winner!

Yesterday on ITV Racing, Luke Harvey said ‘if you found that you must be a genius’ when talking about 40/1 winner Jepeck winning at Wincanton.

I guess that means members of RatingTheRaces are geniuses!

Why our members keep their winners private

If you share a system or service with too many people suddenly your angle/edge is reduced until there are so many people following that it’s lost. It’s the same with tipsters and pundits etc. Look at Hugh Taylor for example, his selections are so well backed that they go off a much shorter price than […]

Horse To Follow in 2022!

2022-01-06T09:40:29+00:00January 5th, 2022|

Who is your horse to follow in 2022?

This is open to everyone so get your names and reasoning sent to @RTR_Liam on twitter!

@RTR_Liam – Constitution Hill

My horse to follow this year could be ‘over’ in just a few days when he runs in the Tolworth Hurdle at Sandown. However I think he’ll win comfortably and even go off favourite for the Supreme Novices Hurdle at Cheltenham. I think he looks a hurdler whereas Jonbon could be a future chaser and that could be the difference at the festival. Constitution Hill caught my eye (and many others) when he won at Sandown beating Might I […]

Liam’s Weekly Thoughts – 3rd January – 9th January

Liam’s Weekly Thoughts

A couple here can drop in trip next time & go very close!

Liam looks back at last weekends action and talks about why simply ‘giving up’ on horses is a bad idea and also highlights 2 horses that could drop in trip next time & run well in races they raced in last year with one finishing 2nd whilst one pulled up. He thinks both can go very close this year!

Save him for the Scottish National / Bet365 Gold Cup Double!

Liam looks at the ‘handicap droppers’ and highlights where they could be aimed next. Races include feature handicaps at Ascot, Sandown, […]
