Liam’s Weekly Thoughts

This would be one hell of a long term plan!

Liam looks back over the weekend and highlights a horse who finished 6th that is surely off to Sandown next time in January as well as suggests an ambitious plan for a horse who would surely be better suited in a handicap with the County Hurdle being a real option.

Surely they wont make the same mistake again?

Liam looks at some of those that have been dropped in the handicap this week and thinks he has found a few that can go well soon including one […]

Liam’s Weekly Thoughts

Surely it will rain soon and some of these will bounce back!

Liam looks back at the racing on Saturday and highlights 6 he is interested in going forward including 2 who definitely need some rain to help their chances next time. Liam also thinks he may have seen a horse who’s going to be campaigned for the Fred Winter at the Cheltenham Festival

Sunday Review at Cheltenham & Irish Analysis

Liam highlights which 2 races from last week he thinks the winner will go on to bigger and better things as well as demonstrating his ability and why he’s worth following with 2 winners on Monday and Tuesday at 20/1 and 19.50

6 well handicapped horses

Liam has highlighted 6 horses he feels are now well handicapped including one who Ben Aitken from Narrowing The Field has also found the prime conditions for.

Champions Day, Horses To Follow and Tipsters

Liam gives his thoughts on Frankie’s ride on Palace Pier, his respect he has for Tony Calvin and how you can use tipsters to find more winners. Also he highlights one horse not to give up on now that he has dropped 5lb for what he thinks was a poor run but can be explained.

Liam’s Weekly Thoughts

Weekend Review

Here Liam looks at some of the best action from the weekend including highlighting a horse he feels is worth adding to your NagMe (since publication the horse was given a 5lb drop in his handicap mark which Liam is delighted with).

Tuesday Review & Welsh Champion Hurdle Analysis

Liam highlights a race that generally works out very well particularly with Leopardstown and the Cheltenham Festival in mind as well as looks ahead to the Welsh Champion Hurdle.

A horse for Cheltenham already?

In this video I highlight a race […]

Silver Trophy Handicap Hurdle

Champagne Well @ 18/1

I think the price we can get on Champagne Well here is crazy if we are prepared to forgive him last season when he was found to have a hairline fracture in his back. Dropping back over hurdles I think he has lots more to come off just 136.

Some of his efforts over this sort of trip include 3rd in Grade 3 Handicap Hurdle at Sandown behind the now 153 rated Third Wind, winning at Cheltenham in a Novice hurdle and finishing 2nd at Cheltenham behind Thyme Hill with Happygolucky and Some Day Soon behind. After then being stepped […]

National Hunt Horses and their targets

With the weekly blog, we will also be highlighting National Hunt horses (this will calm down in the summer) and here are a few that I’ve spotted so far.

If The Cap Fits – Ladbrokes Trophy

If The Cap Fits looks to me perfect for the Ladbrokes Trophy at Newbury in November. He had been running some nice races over fences including when 2nd to Yala Enki at Taunton when getting outstayed and 3rd to Shan Blue at Kempton (track was too sharp). He returned to hurdles after his 2nd to Yala Enki and was well beaten at Cheltenham and Aintree and […]

Weekly Handicap Blog – 4th May 2021

That’s the whole season planned for him!

This weeks includes 1 horse who has been raised 1lb on collateral form but I think he’s still much better than his new 99 mark!

Voix Du Reve dropped 1lb to 144

Voix Du Reve has actually dropped 4lb to 144 over fences but I think connections should stick to hurdles next season and he’s now dropped to 145 over hurdles which is the same mark as when 2nd by a neck at Musselburgh in the Hogmaneigh Hurdle. He clearly acts at some tracks and disappoints at others and at this stage of his career, mixing it up going to tracks […]

Weekly Handicap Blog – Fences will be the making of him!

This week features 2 or 3 that plenty of you wont be agreeing with but I am confident that next season and over fences and he will bounce back.

Cap Du Nord dropped 1lb to 139

This felt very much like an end of season handicap change from the handicapper rather than dropping him because he had disappointed. His form over fences this year has been very good, 412355 with his only poor running coming in a handicap hurdle. He finished 5th in his final run of the season in the Bet365 Gold Cup where the right […]

Weekly Handicap Blog – Royal Ascot contender?

I aim to write a blog each Tuesday highlighting horses that I feel have been dropped in the handicap down to a mark where I think they can be very competitive. This week, I think there is a horse who is being laid out for a return to Royal Ascot!

Nelson River dropped 4lb to 126

Surely next season Tony Carroll will be stepping this horse up in trip again as he has won on the AW over 2m! His only effort over further came in the Coral Cup where he was held up out the back and never really got […]
