Early Season Eyecatchers!

2017-07-15T11:59:46+01:00December 21st, 2016|

I decided that I wouldn’t include winners in this list otherwise the likes of Altior (Nicky Henderson), Buveur D’Air (Nicky Henderson), Frodon (Paul Nicholls) and Cap Soleil (Fergal O’Brien) would have made the list. I strongly recommend looking out for the last named Mare as I thought she was an incredibly impressive TOP RATED winner on debut!

I therefore have looked for horses that have been beaten and hopefully highlighted some that you have either forgotten about or didn’t see yourself. One For Arthur – 5th in the Becher Chase @ Aintree One For Arthur ran a career best when 5th in the […]

How to go from a complete novice to professional bettor in just over a year!

2017-07-15T11:59:47+01:00November 30th, 2016|

The RatingTheRaces NAP Competition is now over a year old and we decided to contact and interview the All-Time Leader Charles Crayford to find out his secrets, methods and how he is using the ratings to help be a successful bettor.

Charles came across very well and had a lot of enthusiasm for the ratings and said: “I love your website and ratings!” £4556.77 Without giving away all your secrets and methods, can you give us one pointer that you look for when picking out your selections and why you think this is important? “For me, the first thing I look for is value. If I can get […]

Dan Skelton Analysis – RatingTheRaces Race Placement Service

2017-07-15T11:59:51+01:00October 24th, 2016|

We asked Aaron the lead Horse Racing Data Analyst at RatingTheRaces what he thought of objective data for race placement:

“Horse racing is one of those sports with a lot of variables contributing the outcome of a race, so many variables that many people overlook the use of statistics and objective data analysis to help them with their decision making. We (ratingtheraces) can clearly and objectively see the trainers and owners who are making best placement decisions and unsurprising to us, those seem to align with who is taking the most prize money home with them at the end of the day. I think the example given here is […]

How Trainers and Owners could and should be using our Ratings

2017-07-15T11:59:52+01:00October 19th, 2016|

As well as punters and professional gamblers using our ratings, we suggest that Trainers and Owners should also be using our ratings. We are in the position to be able to provide 5 day declarations to owners and trainers in ratings format.

This means Trainers and Owners can find out where their horses are rated and if they are multiple entered they can assess to find the race that is the weakest or suits them the most.

Today we have had a look at the Cheltenham card on Friday and Saturday and also the Aintree card for Sunday.

National Hunt Horses to Follow – 2016/2017

2017-07-15T11:59:54+01:00October 18th, 2016|

Avenir D’Une Vie
Avenir D’Une Vie ran in 6 NHF races between November 2015 and April 2016 winning twice and finishing 2nd once. He was thought good enough to contest both the Cheltenham Champion Bumper where he finished 7 lengths 12th and finished 5th in Irish Champion Bumper at Punchestown. At Cheltenham he turned into the straight travelling ominously well but found very little and this could have been down to the ground. Lavirco progeny have just a 7% strike rate on good going which he encountered at Cheltenham compared to a 14% strike rate on soft going and an even better 28% strike rate on heavy. Lavirco progeny also generally […]

2017-07-15T11:59:55+01:00October 9th, 2016|

Godolphin have 2 trainers in the UK with Saeed Bin Suroor and Charlie Appleby and yet they last had a Group 1 winner in the Britain in 2013! Aiden O’Brien has won 20 Group 1’s this SEASON with 17 of these in Britain.

The Group 1 wins started this season in the 1000 Guineas at Newmarket where his very talent Filly Minding won at Evens. She led home a straight 1/2/3 for the ratings and for Aiden O’Brien with Ballydoyle finishing 2nd and Alice Springs 3rd.

Future Champion Jockeys?

2017-07-15T11:59:56+01:00September 28th, 2016|

With the end of the Flat Season drawing ever closer, it looks more and more likely that Jim Crowley is going to take the Champion title away from Silvestre De Sousa and looking at our ratings he has taken his chances more than Silvestre.

Jim Crowley has won on 42 of his TOP RATED rides (109 in total) and won on 43 of his 2nd and 3rd rated rides (98 total). Silvestre has won on 30 of TOP RATED rides (99 in total) but only 30 of his 2nd and 3rd rated rides (148 total).

Looking ahead we have the NH season starting to get into gear and we have looked at […]
