A Fair Weekend Ahead

2017-07-15T11:59:58+01:00September 20th, 2016|

There are some great races this weekend including the Cambridgeshire and the Middle Park Stakes at Newmarket however it’s Friday that I think there are 2 horses that look ahead of their rivals and whilst they are both favourites I think they will be much shorter come race day.

The first is in the Shadwell Rockfell Stakes which is a Group 2 race over 7f for Fillies. The favourite for this race is Fair Eva who after winning her first two races impressively she was last seen being beaten into 3rd at York in the Lowther Stakes behind Queen Kindly and Roly Poly. Fair Eva is by Frankel and won on […]

Guinness Kerry National Handicap Chase – A Mad Bet

2017-03-13T10:07:17+00:00September 14th, 2016|

The Guinness Kerry National is the feature race at Listowel today and Gigginstown House Stud are really going for it as they have 6 runners including the first 3 in the betting.

A horse that has caught my eye however is Mad Brian. He has plenty of positives and is currently 14/1.
Mad Brian has only had 7 runs over fences despite being 10 years of age.

He won on chase debut when staying on well over 2m6f to beat Toner D’Oudaries (last seen winning off 150) and Turban (last seen running off a mark of 149).

He has only had 3 other runs between 2m4f and 3m and they were a 2nd over […]

The Jockey Agent and his jockey’s going places

2017-07-15T12:00:00+01:00September 5th, 2016|

Over the last few years we have been following different jockey agents and one that has really stood out to us is Sash Righton. A former jockey Sash started his career as a jockey agent back in 2005. Last year could well have been a turning point for Sash as he was and still is the agent for Tom Marquand.

After a great breakthrough season for Tom Marquand he won the Apprentice Title narrowly beating Jack Garritty. Still an apprentice this season (although he has now lost his claim) he is well on the way to going close again this season and currently leads from Josephine Gordon, Edward Greatrex and Adam […]

Saturday 13th August 2016 – A Day to be Brave

2017-07-15T12:00:04+01:00August 13th, 2016|

Today there is racing at Doncaster, Lingfield, Market Rasen, Newbury, Newmarket, Ripon and Tramore and some high class races.

The feature race at Ripon today is the William Hill Great St Wilfred Stakes over 6f.

Nuno Tristan has been running well recently winning at Redcar easily before finishing 5th to Librisa Breeze at Ascot in the Gigaset International Stakes and then he finished 3rd at Glorious Goodwood in the Stewards Cup Consolation race behind Hoof It and Related. He didn’t get the clearest of runs that day and may well have won with a clear run. He’s been raised 1lb for that 3rd place but with Adam McNamara not riding today and […]

Glorious Goodwood Day 2 – Qatar Sussex Stakes

2017-07-15T12:00:05+01:00July 27th, 2016|

Galileo Gold vs The Gurkha vs Awtaad

The Qatar Sussex Stakes is the feature race on Day 2 of Glorious Goodwood and it looks like a rematch between St James Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot where Galileo Gold held off the fast finishing The Gurkha having already outbattled Awtaad. Awtaad had previously beaten Galileo Gold at Curragh for the Irish 2000 Guineas and Galileo Gold had gone into that race having won the English 2000 Guineas whilst The Gurkha had won the French 2000 Guineas! So we had 3 Guineas winners all in 1 race and once again they reoppose here at Goodwood!

Since there amazing race at Royal Ascot, The Gurkha […]

A Day for Quiet Reflection

A Day for Quiet Reflection

On Friday 17th June 2016 it was FREE RATINGS Friday and the ratings had a good day with 21 TOP RATED winners at a strike rate of 38.89%.

These TOP RATED winners included both Qemah @ 8.00 BFSP and Quiet Reflection @ 3.14 BFSP who were both winners at Royal Ascot.

Quiet Reflection was a very impressive winner and was even more important to one of our members Andy Smith.

Andy Smith selected 4 TOP RATED runners at the beginning of the day and put them in a Yankee. They were Il Presidente @ 9/4, Quiet Reflection @ 6/4, For ‘N’ […]

Saturday 16th April 2016 – Scottish Grand National TOP RATED Winner

2017-07-15T12:00:10+01:00April 18th, 2016|

Saturday 16th April 2016 – Scottish Grand National TOP RATED Winner!

On Saturday the feature race of the day was the Scottish Grand National but there was plenty of racing both before and after including when Dale Swift had his comeback rides after serving a drugs ban. Hopefully he has learnt his lesson and can concentrate on his race riding and he showed he hadn’t lost any of his ability when winning on his first ride back on TOP RATED Off The Scale who won @ 12.92 BFSP which was a fantastic 219% VALUE and was a great start to what was to be a great day for the ratings.

Over […]
