Godolphin have 2 trainers in the UK with Saeed Bin Suroor and Charlie Appleby and yet they last had a Group 1 winner in the Britain in 2013! Aiden O’Brien has won 20 Group 1’s this SEASON with 17 of these in Britain.

The Group 1 wins started this season in the 1000 Guineas at Newmarket where his very talent Filly Minding won at Evens. She led home a straight 1/2/3 for the ratings and for Aiden O’Brien with Ballydoyle finishing 2nd and Alice Springs 3rd.

A Fair Weekend Ahead

There are some great races this weekend including the Cambridgeshire and the Middle Park Stakes at Newmarket however it’s Friday that I think there are 2 horses that look ahead of their rivals and whilst they are both favourites I think they will be much shorter come race day.

The first is in the Shadwell Rockfell Stakes which is a Group 2 race over 7f for Fillies. With the last Classic being run last Saturday it is worth looking back at the 5 classics.

The 5 English Classics were won by Dawn Approach (2000 Guineas), Sky Lantern (1000 Guineas), Ruler of The World (The Derby), Talent (The Oaks) and Leading Light (St Leger).
