How do I change my password?

If you know your current password and just want a new one, you can change it in your account settings without going through a reset.

There are two different jobs here, and this is the everyday one. If you're already signed in and simply want a fresh password, change it in your settings. If you're locked out and can't get in at all, you want a reset instead, see I forgot my password / I can't log in.

Change it while signed in

1. Sign in and open your account settings from the menu in the top right of any page.
2. Open the password section and enter your current password, then your new one.
3. Save. You'll stay signed in on this device; you may need to sign in again elsewhere.

Pick a password that holds up

• Make it long: a short phrase of a few unrelated words beats a single tricky word.
• Don't reuse a password from another site, a leak somewhere else shouldn't put your RatingTheRaces account at risk.
• A password manager will generate and remember a strong one for you.

Changing your password is also the right move if you ever think someone else has your login, do it straight away, then contact us if anything still looks wrong on your account.
