St Leger day, with Irish Champions Weekend getting under way at Leopardstown and the Watergate Cup at Chester. We went through the races we covered in our St Leger day analysis one by one, and it was a day of two halves: a couple of calls landed, and a couple of big ones did not.
1:10 Doncaster, EBF Maiden Stakes

We started the day in great style with a straight forecast for the ratings. Al Jabbar, our RTR 1, won at 4.00 (3/1), and Hmas Perth, our RTR 2, was 2nd at 5.00 (4/1). The 3.50 favourite, Game Character, who was only 5th on our ratings, finished 3rd.
Those results are always good to see, because they show what the ratings do when a race is run straight. The winner got a perfect tow through the race from Hmas Perth, and it set up beautifully for him. It was a good run from the runner-up too, and we are sure both step forward from this.
The rest of the day, including the St Leger, the Matron and a 50/1 Irish Champion Stakes, is below for members.
