We get asked this a lot, and the honest answer has never been written down properly in one place. So here it is: every single thing RatingTheRaces does, and exactly which of the 3 memberships gets it.

Everything is monthly, 6-monthly or 12-monthly, by card or PayPal. It auto-renews, you can cancel any time, and you keep access to the end of the period you have paid for. There is a 14-day cooling-off period.
What Free gets you, and why it is not just a teaser
A fair amount, and we mean it rather than using it as bait.
- The first race of every day, in full. Not a teaser. The complete ratings grid, the hover cards, Pace & Draw, the lot. Logged out included.
- The NAP Competition, free to enter for everyone, 3 picks a day, with weekly and monthly prizes open to all tiers.
- NagMe on 30 horses, plus 30 trainers, 30 jockeys and 30 sires, with the morning email when one is declared.
- TipStats: your own NAP, selection and NagMe records.

- Member Comps: up to 5 private leagues you can create or join.

What a Free member sees on the other races is the basic card: the field in alphabetical order, cloth number, draw, name, form, win odds, ISP, sex, age, days since the last run, and 4 overall strike rates. Next to that sits a padlocked block standing in for the 50-plus columns you are not seeing.
The racecard: where Free stops and Premium starts
This is the heart of it, so it gets the most space.

The one row worth pausing on is LWOR. It is the mark the horse last won a handicap off for today’s code, sitting next to the mark it is running off now, and it is the fastest way we know of spotting a well handicapped horse. It is Professional only, and it is not in the Premium column picker.
Hover cards: the detail sitting behind every number
Almost every number on the card opens something when you hover it.
- Run Details on any R value: position, beaten distance, the OR carried at the time, the in-running low, and foreign runs pulled into the history. Premium and Pro.
- Stats cards behind every strike rate, including the 7-way splits on direction and class. Free gets these on the 4 basic columns only.
- Name hover extras: headgear records measured against the all-runs baseline, the gelded lamp, the trainer switch lamp with its switch grade, and the weight carried record. Premium and Pro.

Tools and layout: the column picker, filters and Find Horse
Premium and Pro get the column picker with Basic, Punter and Professional presets, the ability to hide, show and reorder columns with the layout saved to your account, the per-race AV windows and R Filter, and Find Horse to jump to a horse anywhere on the day’s cards. Free members cannot change their columns.
The everyday toggles are open to everyone: hide horses, show headgear, freeze the horse name column, sync the scrollbars, minimise sections and the guide.
Downloads: the files, and how far back you can reach
CSV and XLS files for yesterday (with results and starting prices), today and tomorrow, covering every UK and Irish race. Premium and Pro only. The files are filtered on the way out, so the Pro workbook carries LWOR and the Premium one does not.
How far back you can reach depends on your plan and how long you have been a member. It is anchored to when you subscribed and grows with continuous membership.
Premium archive: a window that keeps growing

Premium’s window keeps growing but never opens the entire archive. Professional’s does, after 3 months.
ProStats: the system builder, and the one big Professional feature
This is the single biggest thing Professional adds, and Premium gets none of it.
ProStats queries 150,000+ races by any combination of filters and tells you what happened. Impact Value, A/E, Months in Profit, an XSP/ISP toggle, group by RTR Score, and a Newcomer angle for horses with no form. Save a query as a named system and we warm it overnight so it opens instantly. Professional members get 25 saved systems.
Around it sit the things that make a saved system useful day to day:
- Today’s Qualifiers on the dashboard: every runner today and tomorrow that matches one of your systems.
- Qualifiers emails: the morning list, an 11am update when things change, and the after-racing wrap of what actually qualified at the off.
- A CSV of any system’s qualifying runs, up to 1,000 rows.
- The Horse Database: one row per horse as it stands today, its current official mark by code, age, trainer and days off. ProStats tells you how horses rated X have performed; this tells you which horses are rated X.
TipStats is separate and open to everyone: your own NAP, selection and NagMe records, grouped by course, trainer, odds band and more. Free members can view and group; the filters need Premium.

Following horses: NagMe slots and Liam’s Trackers
NagMe tells you when a horse you are following is declared. Free members get 30 horses, Premium 50 and Professional 75, and every tier gets 30 trainers, 30 jockeys and 30 sires on top. If you downgrade we never delete your NagMes, you simply cannot add more until you are back under the cap.
Premium and Pro also get NagMe stats: Form Since and P/L for each horse since you added it.
Liam’s Trackers is the curated list of horses we have flagged, with the full note on each one. Free members see the public picks and a count of how many are hidden. Premium and Professional see all of them, can add any of them to NagMe in one click, and can switch on the tracker alert email that fires when a tracked horse is declared for tomorrow, quoting the note we wrote at the time.
The NAP Competition: free to enter on every tier
Free to enter at every tier, 3 picks a day, and the prizes are open to everyone: £20 cash, a £25 free bet, a month of Premium and a mug weekly, and £50 cash, a £50 free bet, 2 months of Premium and a mug monthly.
Two differences worth knowing. Free members need a linked public X account to submit a pick; Premium and Professional can enter without one, though you still need a public X account to claim a prize. And a couple of prizes are deliberately Free-only, because their whole purpose is to hand Free members a day of Premium.
How to get Premium days without paying for them
We would rather you tried it than took our word for it, so there are a lot of these. Every one of them serves the same full racecard a paying Premium member gets.
Earn them through the NAP Competition
- A 5-day Premium trial on your first ever NAP Competition entry.
- Free Ratings Friday: enter on 2 separate days between Sunday and Thursday and Friday’s ratings are yours. Make it 3 days and you get them on Thursday evening.
- Daily top scorer: top the board and the next day’s full ratings are yours. Win on Thursday and you get Friday and Saturday.
- The Saturday draw: one Free member who entered every day from Sunday to Friday gets Saturday’s ratings.
- Weekly and monthly winners get 1 or 2 months of Premium.
Trials, XP and the other ways in
- 900 XP buys a full day of ratings from your profile page.
- New accounts that have never entered or trialled get a 7-day activation trial.
- Free members who have been active on 4 or more of the last 7 days get a 3-day trial.
- Lapsed members get a 2-day and then a 3-day gift for coming back to the competition.
- And you can always just ask us on live chat.
One caveat so nobody is caught out: none of these open Professional features, and R figures are held back on Free Ratings Friday.
Blog, videos and support
Our Premium Analysis, Eyecatchers & Reviews and Handicap Analysis posts give everybody a free preview and hold the selections back for members. The Tuesday handicap analysis always gives the first horse away free.
Support is live chat and email for everyone. Professional members get priority, and their feature requests move up the build list — a good deal of what is on the site got built because a Pro member asked for it.
Which membership should you take?
Stay on Free if you want to play the competition, follow horses with NagMe and use one full race a day to see whether the ratings are any good. That is a real offer, not a trial.
Take Premium if you want the ratings themselves: every race, every day, the full grid, the hovers, Pace & Draw, the downloads and the tracker. This is the right tier for most people.
Take Professional if you build systems, or if you want the data underneath the ratings rather than the ratings alone: ProStats over 150,000+ races, the qualifiers emails, Early Ratings, LWOR, the Horse Database and the whole download archive.
