When do the downloads refresh?

Conceptpremium / professionalnew

A download is a snapshot of the ratings at the moment you take it. The underlying data refreshes through the day, so export again later to pick up changes.

A download is a snapshot: it captures the ratings exactly as they stand when you export. The ratings themselves keep moving through the day, so the key thing to understand is that your saved file won't update itself, you take a fresh one when you want the latest picture.

When the data behind it changes

The same publishing rhythm that drives the on-screen ratings drives the downloads:

  • Next day's ratings are published ahead of racing, typically in the early afternoon the day before, once declarations are out.
  • Through the day the file is rebuilt as the picture firms up, so a later export reflects the newest declarations, non-runners and updated figures.

For the full detail on timings, see When are ratings published and how often updated?.

Getting the most current file

  • Export late for a settled card. The nearer to racing you download, the more the field, non-runners and figures have firmed up.
  • Re-download rather than reopen an old file. If you saved one earlier and want today's changes, take a fresh export, the old file on your computer won't refresh on its own.
Live in-running prices move continuously and aren't captured in a static file; a download reflects the data as at the moment you export it.
