Future Champions Day at Newmarket, day 2 of the jumps meeting at Chepstow, the Sprint Trophy and the Cesarewitch, a card at York, a card at Hexham and a card at Naas. There is more worth watching on Saturday than on any day since Arc weekend, so we have gone through it race by race.
We start with the first race on the card at Newmarket, and this one is free to everybody.
13:15 Newmarket, Modern Games Darley Stakes, Group 3
A Group 3 over 1m1f on good ground, worth £53,874 to the winner, and only 5 declared. It is also the tightest race on our sheet all day.
Look at the top of our ratings: Humidity rated 111, The Lost King rated 110, Haatem rated 110, Boiling Point rated 110. Four horses inside a pound, which in a 5 runner Group 3 means our figures are telling you this is a genuine toss up rather than a 1 horse race.
The one we keep coming back to is Humidity, and for an unusual reason. He is a 3-year-old, he is our highest rated horse in the race, and he has not run since 27 September 2025. That is 378 days off the track. You can read that 2 ways and both are fair: either the layoff is a warning, or a lightly raced 3-year-old coming back at the top of our figures is exactly the sort who improves past older, more exposed rivals. We would want to see the market on him before committing either way.
The Lost King is the one with the most recent evidence. He was 2nd at Newmarket on 25 September, beaten 4.75 lengths by Talk Of New York, and he goes back to the same track for Andrew Balding.

Four horses in a pound, a 3-year-old back after a year off, and £53,000 to the winner. That is a good way to start a Saturday.
The other 19 races we have gone through, including the Sprint Trophy, the Cesarewitch, the Dewhurst, the Silver Trophy and where every one of these horses sits on our ratings, are below for Premium and Pro members.
