Cambridgeshire day at Newmarket, with the Middle Park, the Cheveley Park and the Royal Lodge alongside it, plus Haydock, Ripon, Market Rasen and the Goffs Million at the Curragh. We have gone through the cards and there are 10 horses we want to talk about, in time order.
1:22 Newmarket, Jersey Lily Fillies Nursery (Class 2, 7f, £25,770)
Tansy Lane is our RTR 3 and she is handicapped for the first time off 74, the lowest mark in the field.

Here is the type she is, and it is a type we like. She showed very little on her first 2 starts, 6th at Yarmouth and 7th on the July Course, and then she got her act together at the third attempt and won at Epsom. Fillies who take a while to work out what they are doing, and then click, often take a big step forward once the penny has dropped. She now gets into a handicap off the bottom mark before anyone has really seen what she can do.
The figures are not against her either. Her Epsom run produced 119.4 on our R figures, the second best last-run figure in the race, and her 3-run average ranks 3rd of 11. A couple are higher, and we are not going to pretend otherwise, but she is right there with horses who have been running to a good level all summer.
The one to beat on our figures is Sierra Belle, our Top Rated, who won at Kempton on 2 September and is rated 81. Tansy Lane is the one we would rather be on at the prices.
The other 9 races, including all 3 Group races at Newmarket, the Cambridgeshire and the Goffs Million, are below for members.
