Handicap Mark Changes – 30/08/2022

How to use our Free RTR NagMe/Tracker tool

Adding a horse to your NagMe is a great way to remind you when a horse is due to run next. Was it eyecatching, a sure fire winner next time, hugely unlucky or just one that you want to keep an eye on? Add it to your RTR NagMe (Free to use) and get an email notification when it’s next due to run!

These include a Richard Fahey horse that has been over the wrong trip?

Admiral D – Up to 8f next? (-1 to 94)

Admiral D finished 3rd in the Shergar Cup 2 runs ago when suggesting a step up in trip was needed and last time out at Thirsk over 7f once again suggested a further step up in trip was needed.  Having finished 2nd 3 runs ago over 6f in a feature handicap suggests the horse certainly has ability and if a further step up in trip brings out more improvement then he could be nicely handicapped off 94. He could be a future Lincoln horse and they could test his suitability to Doncaster over 7f next time. Interestingly the last twice the winner has been a horse to come off the pace which is likely to be the same for Admiral D.

Aim: Cazoo Handicap

Espirito – 6f in a handicap (-1 to 68)

Espirito was highlighted here:

Why I like Espirito

Dropping 1lb to can only help next time and I hope a more achievable race can be found next time. I think he can win a race or two off his mark so he doesn’t have to be dropped right down to a 0-70 race. There’s a 0-80 at Yarmouth that he could be aimed at.

Aim: Expert Tips Nursery

Iron Sheriff – back to the Newcastle (-1 to 55)

Iron Sheriff ran a hugely eyecatching run 3 runs ago on the AW at Newcastle when arguably beaten by the draw. Since then he’s had 2 runs on the turf and then disappointed at Southwell. His best form is all at Newcastle and I hope he returns here next time.. If he does then I would be confident of a huge run and the fact he was last sent off at 28/1 |(albeit at Southwell) hopefully he’s a similar price. There’s a 1m race towards the end of September.

Aim: Twitter Handicap

Korker – strange race choice for me (-1 to 103)

You can see what I said about Korker in my eyecatchers blog

What I said about Korker

If he does run at Haydock then I would be confident of a big run!

Aim: Lester Piggott First To Last Handicap

Woolhampton – drop into Nursery (-1 to 90)

Woolhampton last 3 runs since getting a handicap mark have been in the Super Sprint (2nd), Fillies Listed race (3rd) and Tatts Auction Stakes (7th). She didn’t run badly at Newmarket last time out but I hope connections give her a winnable race next time to get some confidence back into here. Take in a nursery and win and then go back to these lucrative races and Listed races. Goodwood has a Fillies Nursery that looks ideal

Aim: Scratch Of The Day Fillies Nursery

Mondammej – have a little break now (-2 to 99)

Mondameej has disappointed on his last 3 runs since finishing 2nd to Royal Aclaim at York in early July and I think a few weeks break might do him the world of good. He’s now dropped from a high of 104 (June 22) back under 100 for the first time since January of this year having won off 97 at Wolverhampton. I think he can certainly get competitive if he can be found a suitable race and there’s an obvious one…..he won it last year. (We’ve also highlighted Korker for it above!)

Aim: Lester Piggott First To Last Handicap
