Constitution Hill Plan

Liam explains what he would do with Constitution Hill for the next 2 seasons (in an ideal world) and why!

2023/2024

For the most part, this would be the ‘Altior’ route however I would be keen to let Constitution Hill into open company earlier

Race 1: 2m2f Novice Chase at Kempton. (late November)

A number of reasons to start here. It’s an easy 2m2f, it’s getting experience of Kempton and their fences and it was a starting point for Altior.

Race 2: Henry VIII Novice Chase at Sandown (early December)

If you are as good as Altior and Constitution Hill, the race at Kempton previously will […]

Five reasons why Energumene can’t turn the tables on Shishkin

Five reasons why Energumene can’t turn the tables on Shishkin

1.Cheltenham Festival Form

Course form at Cheltenham is very important as we see time and time again and horses with Cheltenham Festival form is even more important. The buzz and noise at Cheltenham can get horses worked up and we are confident this wont happen to Shishkin who has been there and done it. Shishkin has done this twice now having won the 2020 Supreme Novices & the 2021 Arkle. Energumene has never been to the Cheltenham Festival.

2. Shorter Distance is countered by the uphill finish

The suggestion that the shorter distance is a fact however this is […]

Can Shishkin back up his win at Cheltenham now?

Can the Clarence House be topped at the Cheltenham Festival?

Shishkin was one of 7 TOP RATED ITV Winners!

On ITV on Saturday, there were 8 races and TOP RATED won 7 of them whilst the other traded 1.36 in the run before finishing 2nd!

Haydock 1:25 Jonbon made hard work of winning but was giving weight away to the runner up. He’s still learning and should again improve for the run. He was drifted slightly for the Supreme Novices Hurdle and we are very happy with Constitution Hill against him.

Ascot 1:45 Unexpected Party showed he was well handicapped when winning comfortably here. He went up 6lb […]

Horses To Follow – National Hunt 20/21

Liam’s Horses To Follow – National Hunt 20/21 Season

Nicky Henderson

Shishkin is arguably the most boring horse in this list as it’s not like people didn’t see him win the Supreme Novices Hurdle. At the beginning of last season, I highlighted Shishkin in my Horses To Follow and highlighted the Supreme Novices Hurdle as the target. Honestly though my confidence waned during the season not in his ability but I was convinced Nicky Henderson was campaigning him with the Neptune Novices Hurdle as the target. The step up in trip and finishing strongly at Huntingdon still suggested to me that he will be in the intermediate […]

Cheltenham Festival 2020 – Tuesday Review

Here is Liam’s Cheltenham Festival 2020 – Tuesday review. Listen out for the horses that he highlights he feels will be worth following next season. These include a Champion Hurdle horse, a potential Ryanair horse and which horse he thinks should be dropped back in trip next time. Some of this was recorded BEFORE Irish Racing was also abandoned due to the Coronavirus.

Liam’s Horses To Follow – Day 1 of Cheltenham Festival 2020

Liam was tasked with finding just 1 horse to take out of each race from the Cheltenham Festival. Check out his Horses To Follow from Day 1 of the Cheltenham Festival below. He’ll be looking at them in more depth in upcoming blogs.

Supreme Novices Hurdle – Allart

Allart hadn’t had a competitive run until a very good 5th place today behind what I think were very good horses. I believe that Shishkin will be a leading player for the Arkle next season whilst Abacadabras will go close in a Champion Hurdle and these would have been obvious […]
